ABSTRACT

The field of media and telecommunications is a fast-paced and high-pressured environment. It is a world that is highly competitive, where success is measured in rating points, market share and sales volume. The clear lines and historical boundaries that once separated the fields of broadcasting, cable and telephony are becoming less distinct. A natural convergence of industries and information technologies is blurring those distinctions. Today’s manager is faced with a different set of industry players and issues than was the case in past years.
