ABSTRACT

The treatment of bony injuries is the remit of the trauma and orthopaedic surgeons. Childhood bony injuries that are treated appropriately rarely run into complications because of the excellent healing powers of children. Negligent or substandard care in paediatric trauma is outwith the remit of this book. Paediatricians may, however, be involved later in injuries that have involved joint dislocation or derangement because of later arthritis.
