ABSTRACT

Science often consists of taking objects and putting them in some kind of arrangement in order to see a pattern which we could not previously see. This chapter will describe different ways to order your data in order to find patterns. Although numerical summaries can be helpful in finding patterns, human beings often find that graphics are even more helpful in achieving this goal. In general I will provide information and examples of graphics that are most suited to the statistical tests treated at the beginning of each chapter. However, this chapter provides information that is common and necessary for every statistical test treated in this book.
