ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we examine the broad landscape of scholarship related to the preparation of future school leaders and continuing professional development for current school leaders. Our primary focus is on scholarship that examines university-based, formal degree, and licensure programs. Th is chapter diff ers from others in this handbook because it consists primarily of original document based research.
