ABSTRACT
Savvy people in the news business know that the masthead-not the front page-is the most influential section of a newspaper. Usually displayed on the editorial page, the masthead lists the names and positions of the powerful people who run a newspaper. Historically, women have been excluded from these power positions and that exclusion, according to one woman who dared publicly admonish her newspaper’s most senior executives, stood in the way of greatness.
