ABSTRACT
More than a quarter of a century has passed since the landmark Pacifica (1978) decision, which split the United States Supreme Court. However, the decision stands as the most significant in defining broadcast indecency law in the United States. The case was followed by a series of United States Court of Appeals, District of Columbia decisions that more narrowly addressed enforcement issues. In this chapter, we examine these cases.
