ABSTRACT

Mediation and negotiation extend dialogue communications into the public policy realm of conflict resolution and consensus building. The objective is to resolve an issue with its protagonists and thereby discourage, and perhaps preempt, public and government involvement. Resolution is based on the premise that the parties involved need each other and can mutually benefit by arriving at a win-win agreement.
