ABSTRACT
Lil Boy Blue, Smurf, Juice, and Lil Garfield became participants in the Juvenile Court Community when they allegedly broke the law. Lil Boy Blue became a participant when he brought a gun to school. Smurf’s participation was a result of the drive-by incident that caused Oso’s death. Juice and Lil Garfield became participants as a result of domestic violence and alcohol abuse. During the period of time surrounding the study, Smurf served time in the juvenile correctional facility, commonly referred to as juvie by the boys, Lil Garfield spent time in a residential rehabilitation center, and all four boys were on probation.
