ABSTRACT

Spark declined to accept any legal advice after the proper notices about its availability had been given to him. Spark was a drug addict and after a session of relentless questions being fired at him for over two hours, he asked whether the police would agree to bail if he admitted to being involved in the incident. The officer in the room agreed and Spark made a statement, in which he said he was at the shop at the time the fire was just becoming serious, and had gone in to see if any property could be salvaged, but he had not started the fire.
