ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we discuss sampling as well as population external validity, the extent to which the results generalize to the population of interest. Chapter 19 broadens the discussion of external validity and how it is evaluated. That chapter also provides examples of how we evaluate the internal and external validity of the four studies first discussed in chapter 1.
