ABSTRACT
Polish, Italian, and Jewish immigrants had particular educational aspirations; educational reformers had particular motives. Maxine Seller, of the Depctment of Social Foundations at the State University of New York at Buffalo, explores these aspirations and motives, and analyzes the resulting ferment.
