ABSTRACT

When you look around, you will see that people often mimic each other. You may spot two lovers in a bar, who unwittingly assume each other’s posture while disclosing how much they are in love. Or two grandmothers on a bench in the park, who are nodding and taking over facial expressions as they exchange the latest news about their grandchildren. Two children jump on the couch, crying and screaming, but only one really saw a mouse. Mimicry is everywhere, and most of the time people are not aware of the fact that they mimic or are being mimicked. Mimicry is an integral part of our daily social life.
