ABSTRACT

A professor considers the morning’s tasks: finish a literature review for an article he’s preparing for submission, identify some readings for his graduate seminar and arrange copies for his students, and send off a paper for a volume of conference proceedings. He’s working from home, and he’s never really paid attention when his students have explained the proxy server arrangement to access his institution’s library holdings of e-journal subscriptions, database subscriptions, and e-books. And he’s certain he doesn’t remember his password.
