ABSTRACT

Pleadings are formal documents which constitute court records and which define the facts and issues of a case. Their purposes include: (1) informing an opponent of the nature of the case; (2) providing the court with particulars of the relief or remedy sought; and (3) limiting the scope of discovery.1
