ABSTRACT
Guarantees and indemnities are separate contractual arrangements under which
a third party agrees to assume the liability of the borrower if the borrower fails to
pay, or causes loss to, the lender.
A third party may grant collateral to the lender in support of its guarantee or
indemnity.
