ABSTRACT
David S. Allen is an associate professor in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His most recent book is titled Democracy, Inc.: The Press and Law in the Corporate Rationalization of the Public Sphere (2005, University of Illinois Press). His research has appeared in journals such as Communication Law & Policy, Journal of Mass Media Ethics, and the Free Speech Yearbook. He is the co-editor, with Robert Jensen, of Freeing the First Amendment: Critical Perspectives on Freedom of Expression.
