Character conflict is the heart of drama for the screenplay. The character's emotional conflicts are what give heart and spirit to the script. Since emotional conflict is the stuff from which great stories are made it is important for people to completely understand the character's emotional world. All characters reveal their true self under pressure, so let's look at some other important building blocks to make the blueprint for screen-writing have dramatic conflict. Conflict is the strength of any exciting character and story. The hero and the villain are known as the Protagonist and the Antagonist. Great writing is about emotional conflict and deal with stories in which the characters have personal problems, thwarted dreams, and passionate goals.
