ABSTRACT

If schooling means participation in various GBS's, which are part of a story centered curriculum, we need to ask what the makeup of the entire school experience should look like. Before we begin, we need understand that is no one set of things that need to be taught to all students. In fact, the scenarios that I propose are not to be taught at all. They are to be lived. The goal is to give children experiences, or more accurately, to encourage them to have a variety of experiences. Ideally then, there would be hundreds of experiences to choose from and each child would participate in a many different ones, finally selecting those to concentrate on that were of the greatest interest to him or her.
