Use Tielsch is one of the most popular authors on the contemporary Austrian scene. She writes in a readily accessible style with conventional themes and forms and with a keen sense for what is topical in present-day society Although her poetry is noteworthy, she is best known for her historical novels dealing with the Second World War and the immediate postwar period.
