ABSTRACT

Almost every activity in which children and adolescents participate has moral dimensions, and consequently almost every activity that individuals engage in can be explored from a moral perspective. During the history of investigation on moral development, these investigations have included the relation of moral development to sexual behavior, drug use, cheating in school, and delinquency, to name a few (for reviews of literature at different points in time, see Blasi, 1980; Hartshorne & May, 1928; Turiel, 1998). A century of research cannot be accurately condensed in a sentence, but the evidence suggests that the relation of moral development to daily activities is complicated and often difficult to discern.
