ABSTRACT
Observational methods, of course can be used in both laboratory and "naturalis tic" settings. Chapter 2 discusses the ways in which experimentation helps the researcher to determine causality. One of the real advantages to the use of direct observations, however, is the ability to document behavior in situ. However, whenever we observe or study someone or something in the real world we can take a variety of perspectives on the phenomenon under examination.
