ABSTRACT
Your name is Monisha and you are an eighteen-year-old, African-American female. You are a freshman in college. You are the oldest of four children. Your siblings live at home with your parents in a city about three hours from the university you attend. Your parents work in a factory which manufactures upholstery for automobiles. You are the first one in your extended family to attend college. Both parents began working in the factory immediately after graduating from high school. You share an apartment with three other students and work part-time. You are carrying a heavy load of credits to try and get through the four years of college as quickly as possible so you can earn a decent income and help your family.
