ABSTRACT
Your name is Cathy, and you are an eleven-year-old, European-American female. You have been residing in foster care for the past four months. This placement was made after you revealed you were a victim of sexual abuse to one of your teachers at school. Your foster home consists of a married couple who have encouraged you to call them mom and dad. They have no children of their own. You are currently attending the fifth grade in a rural, elementary school. Your biological family consists of your mom, your grandfather, your sister Karen, and two adult cousins who sometimes live with your family and sometimes live with other extended family members in another state. Your mother also has boyfriends who come and go. You are being interviewed at a community mental health center.
