ABSTRACT
Comprehensive residential treatment facilities are designed to serve children and adolescents whose social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties cannot be addressed in the traditional school environment. The children in such facilities might, for example, need 24-hour supervision and extensive support because they pose a danger to themselves or to others.
