ABSTRACT

Imagine for a moment that it is not the end of the 20th century, but instead the end of the 15th-century. Imagine that you are a teacher-perhaps a humanist scholar-reflecting on the importance of the new technology of movable type. What will the world look like in the future? How will scholarship and teaching be transformed by this new technology? Will it change the way people learn? How much will it cost? Will we have to teach people new skills to use this technology?
