ABSTRACT

Ms. Robards is the librarian at a high school in suburban Los Angeles. The students attending her school are economically and socially privileged. As part of the library’s new “media lab” there are not only high-speed links to the Internet and the World Wide Web, but also high-quality color printers for the students and faculty to use in the preparation of reports and projects. Mrs. French-a mother of one of the 11th graders-called the school’s principal, Dr. Zemecki, this morning. She was livid about pornographic pictures her son had brought home from school.
