Student Activism and University Teaching in South Korea

This chapter explores an important and unique theme in Korean higher edu­ cation-student political activism-and its relationship to university class­ room learning environments. While several strategies are suggested for college teachers to cope effectively in politically volatile classroom situations, read­ ers are encouraged to develop new approaches to teaching that incorporate appropriate social contexts and political realities.
