ABSTRACT

So far, I have placed special emphasis on the differentiation of form and space and described the child as an inventor and problem solver. Of course, our inventive child is also an affectively motivated human being who approaches drawing with feelings, fantasies, and wishes. Thus, this chapter will focus on drawings as a representation of the inner world of feelings. A natural starting point is an examination of the role of color, which traditionally has been seen as having a direct link to human emotions.
