ABSTRACT

American Indian and Alaskan Native faculty (native faculty) often have both arewarding and achallenging experience at tribai colleges and universities (TeUs). Most likely, the philosophy of the tribai college is congruent with the philosophy of the native faculty member-both based on a tribai perspective grounded in native culture. The result is a more rewarding experience for faculty members that supports their personal commitment to teach and work with native students and other community members to help improve their education and job skills.
