ABSTRACT
In chapter 5, we realized that community need not be opposed to individuality (although it is opposed to individualism as an ideology). As a matter of fact, mature communities cannot reach their potential unless they are made up of members with a strong sense of individuality. In this chapter, we explore this theme further. The thesis is that cultivating community requires cultivating empowerment.
