ABSTRACT

You have established goals for teaching your course, selected your textbook, set up your grading system, and created your syllabus. It is now time to prepare for the first few days of class. These will be important days because the way you present yourself and the way you use your time during those first few classes will tell your students a lot about what they can expect from you and your course, and about what will be expected of them. In other words, the first few days of class tend to set the tone for the rest of the term.
