ABSTRACT
The purpose of this chapter is to summarize, conceptually as well as quantita tively, the body of research that has been published in the past 20 years in which an attempt was made to evaluate the effectiveness of a Peace Education (PE) pro gram. During the period 1981-2000, close to 1,000 articles, chapters in books, institutional reports, and convention-symposium presentations that dealt with the broadly defined topic of PE were published (based on a search of PsyLit, Eric, and numerous peace-focused Web sites). Approximately 30% of these items referred to a particular PE intervention program.
