ABSTRACT

Everyone in showbiz is so desperate and determined to make it that the temptations are there to die or kill trying. Screenwriters are always talking about 'ethics' but in a roundabout way. The unofficial anthem of showbiz might be Bob Dylan singing 'Everybody must get screwed'. Entertainment agreements and contracts are so complicated and specialized they can really only be understood by people used to working with them. Along with the interpersonal scenarios, also determine who will get credit for the story idea and for writing the screen play, which will be present at pitches, which will do the talking at meetings, who will make the phone calls and do the photocopying. Agreements will also protect their in projects using less ephemeral ideas. Finally all comes down to is courage-the courage to discover who they are, the courage to make a choice for what our heart believes, the courage to stick with that choice.
