ABSTRACT

Kinsey, Pomeroy, and Martin (1948) noted that no aspect of human behavior has received more thought and discussion than human sexuality, and modern media own no claim to originating public fascination with sexually explicit material. Venus of Willendorf, a statue of a female with enlarged sexual organs dates to 30,000 BC (Webb, 1982). Anal intercourse appears frequently on Peruvian ceramics dating to 1500 BC (Brewer, 1982). “In every modern language the amount of deliberately pornographic material that has been produced is beyond ready calculation” (Kinsey, Pomeroy, Martin, & Gebhard, 1953, p. 672).
