ABSTRACT

Oliver Wendell Holmes described the goal of data reduction as finding simplicity on the other side of complexity. A similar sentiment applies to the individual assessment report. The report organizes the massive amount of information (about the organization, the job, and the individual) generated from the assessment process and summarizes and combines it in a way useful to the client’s decision makers. This can be as simple as an oral discussion communicating the decision to accept or reject the candidate, or as complex as a 20-or 30-page narrative including charts and graphs. In effect, it is the client who determines the extent of reporting.
