ABSTRACT

In the three previous chapters we discussed the three traditional kinds of classroom settings that have been used in science courses-lectures, discussions, and laboratories. For each of these settings, we discussed the constraints that affect what you, the teacher, can do in that setting, and we offered some ideas for helping the learner to learn in those environments. In this chapter we will describe a number of more recently developed learning environments that are being widely discussed and implemented at all levels of education.
