ABSTRACT

For the past few years, many reading researchers and teachers have come to understand that literacy does not mean ability to read, write, and think only in print-based texts. Rather, an expanded notion of literacy now suggests that readers construct meaning drawing from multiple systems of communication, or what is known as semiotics.
