Six US executives who once worked for John F. Welch, Jr., General Electric Company's near-legendary chairman and CEO, are now putting their considerable talents to work at their own companies. Although GE and Welch can be credited for uniquely developing these superstars, it cannot be assumed that they are Welch copycats. One of these executives is Lawrence A. Bossidy, chairman and CEO of Allied Signal Corporation. Some advice from Bossidy includes implement an honest appraisal system, be humble and ready to listen, and increase communication between layers of the organization.
