ABSTRACT

Walter Tower, President and CEO, acquired Nimrod Press, a full-service commercial printing company, in the mid-seventies through a leveraged. Tower, whose experience at that time had been solely in sales, was confronted with a number of financial and managerial issues during the early years of his leadership. The company's specialty is the high-quality, high-technology segment of the commercial or financial printing field. Over the years the company had positioned itself in this niche by investing heavily in state-of-the-art printing presses, advanced computer-based systems for color separation and image manipulation, and automated typesetting systems. Nimrod also has a small art department and an engraved stationery division. By performing a wide range of printing functions, the company could take responsibility for an entire job for a customer, better control the quality of the work and better control scheduling and service for the customer.
