ABSTRACT
Joan Rivers, CEO, sent a memo to the employees of NBx. Her message was that she would like to redesign the fundamental business processes of the organization. The NBx line of business is the research and development (R&D) of new products. She focuses on company objectives and a collective effort to make NBx the most valued company in the industry. The concept behind the original process was quite simple, and was aimed at doing a better job of managing the risks associated with bringing our new products to market. The goal was to ensure that the team put all the facts on the table regarding the risks it faced in entering the next phase of commercialization, and the team had appropriate plans and contingencies in place to deal with these risks as it moved forward. Hence rather than discussing funding for R&D projects at meeting after meeting, we need to address who we will assign to which projects.
