ABSTRACT
The right wing of the spectrum is defended most relentlessly in public debate by Roman Catholic spokesmen. It should not be overlooked, however, that some members of the Protestant and
Jewish communities join in defense of the present laws regulating abortion. Nevertheless, most of the right-wing arguments stated here are to be attributed to Roman Catholic commentators who, by and large, have set the terms of debate over and against leftwing advocates.
