ABSTRACT

We next present seven issues that - terviews, although in very different ways. The process will help you to analyze interviewers’ requests, identify the issues, and organize your ideas. We pose several versions of questions in each cluster; the underlined words contain the essence of the request. Your first step is to analyze each cluster looking for the primary purpose of the questions. Are you being asked about your credentials or your philosophy? Does the question address classroom experience or personal characteristics that can affect the school community? Is your knowledge of how children learn being addressed, or does the question relate to your knowledge of current curriculum standards? Take time to identify the issue and relate it to the realities of the particular school setting. Now you are ready to connect the purpose, the issue, and your ideas. Identify items in your list of qualifications that relate to the issue addressed. Organize the ideas that you would include in your response. Such note taking is the first step in developing appropriate responses.
