Twenty-four KPMG (Peat Marwick) senior managers, all tapped for thepartnership track in the accounting giant's state and local tax (SALT) services, are seated around a table in a hotel conference room, collectively addressing the question "What are the most significant leadership issues you are facing as a manager in the KPMG SALT practice?" In 8 minutes, the group identifies 130 leadership issues. And it does so without uttering a single word.
