ABSTRACT

T he story o f the work o f the writing program adm inistrator (WPA) in the community college, I suspect, is that it is a story still being written by those o f us who work in that space. Like spiders that spin real webs and web designers who spin the virtual ones, community college W PAs work in the world o f connectivity and creativity. O ur webs are constructed in and for our own contexts. The sites o f our work are multiple, complex, and ever-changing. I boldly look for generalizations about community college contexts here, even as I acknowledge it may not be entirely possible to do so.
