ABSTRACT

A cab crosses a bridge towards the skyline of a glittering night-time metropolis. Across town, as her date approaches, a woman takes a shower, soaping herself in luxuriant foam. They meet and the couple is seen sitting in the back of the cab, the woman now clothed in a shimmering dress. The cab turns a comer and happens upon a crowd of photographers and public, lining a red carpet that leads to security staff guarding the entrance to some kind of exclusive party or premiere. The woman ponders a moment and the cab pulls up alongside a parked limousine. Leaving the cab, she sneaks in one passenger door of the limo and emerges from the other onto the red carpet. Walking towards the club entrance, the photographers' flash bulbs erupt as she smiles, sashays, swivels down the red carpet. As she moves her body fragments, splits, freezes, morphs through a 'flash trail effect', 1 mimicking the frozen images captured on a score of cameras, and she transforms. The anonymous woman becomes Sarah Jessica Parker, for this stolen moment, she becomes a star. Confirming the metamorphosis we have seen, next to the final image of a bottle of Lux shower gel, the advertising tagline is displayed: 'Brings out the * in you.'
