ABSTRACT
One of the ways computer technology is impacting education is how it is transforming
the traditional textbook. No longer must teachers and students wait 10 years for the next
edition of a popular text. The first edition of this text was in some important ways out of
date in just a year or two, but the book was in hard copy print so there was nothing we
could do. In a few short years, that has changed. Now, when a book is published, the
means are available to keep it up to date via the Internet.
