ABSTRACT

Toward the end of the interview session, each participant in the study was asked about the relative costs and benefits of fathering (Sagi & Sharon, 1983; Snarey, 1993). They were directly asked if they had experienced benefits from involvement with their children and, beyond finances, what the related costs may have been. Finally, they were asked if they felt the benefits of fathering outweighed the costs, or vice versa.
