ABSTRACT

We would like to thank the three reviewers, Ray McDermott, James Greeno, and Douglas Macbeth, for giving us their encouraging and inspiring comments. Insights from McDermott and Greeno’s review led us to reexamine what we have achieved and still have to achieve in the AlgoArena project. The rethinking helped us to pinpoint future directions in our research and discover what kind of challenges we may yet have to cope with. Macbeth’s review, which is critical as well as significant, provided us with an opportunity to reflect on our identity and position when adopting ethnomethodological analysis for researching and designing computer-based learning environments. This reflection further assisted us in confirming our goals.
