ABSTRACT

In the first seven chapters, I present a synopsis of what is known about TOTs and also illustrated how much is not known. I suspect that my readers were frequently disappointed that issues could not be resolved and that so many interesting questions remain unsolved. Despite the gaps, loose ends, and open holes in our knowledge about TOTs, there are solid data pointing to the importance of the phenomena for a range of psychological issues. More to the point, relative to many other subjective phenomena of human psychology, there has been a lot of research conducted on TOTs, which may serve as a model for other phenomenology-based investigations. In this closing chapter, I present some general thoughts, link TOTs to other phenomenological experiences, and offer a summary on TOTs.
