ABSTRACT

The order of the several adjuncts is naturally regu· lated by the order in which the ideas present themseh·es

to the mind of the speaker, and no general rule can therefore be established in those cases in which the ad· juncts are strictly coordinated. But very often different relations obtain between the several adjuncts and the principal, and then it is possible to give some rules of precedence for certain adjuncts. - Cf. p. 508.
